Miriam gained her Diploma in Legal Practice in 2010 from the University of Sheffield. She is a member of APIL, also a Chartered Legal Executive (CLE) and a qualified solicitor.

Miriam took the longer alternative route to qualification that enables trainees to gain far more valuable practical experience in their chosen speciality, whilst training. This took a great deal of effort and determination on her part. She undertook her LLB and LPC, after which she gained employment as a Clinical Risk Paralegal. She then joined our firm where we supported her to qualification. She was registered with Graduate Member status with CILEX. Having completed a very rigorous assessment process with CILEX, she was accredited with full Chartered Legal Executive status in April 2018, and after undertaking her Professional Skills Course, Miriam cross-qualified as a solicitor on 2 July 2018.

With her many years of direct specialist experience in the clinical negligence field, Miriam is now regarded within our firm is of equivalent Grade B fee earner status.

Miriam is often the earliest of our team in the office and is highly motivated to look after her clients and progress their cases as quickly as possible. She is naturally intuitive, with a great deal of common sense applied to thoroughly investigating healthcare issues.

Miriam has a particular specialist interest in general surgery, prostate cancer, hernia cases and spinal injury cases.  She has represented families at Inquests and is familiar with the Coronial process. Inquests are usually an incredibly difficult time for bereaved relatives, but Miriam is well-experienced in providing the reassurance and expertise needed through this process.

How Miriam likes to spend her free time:

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, (more so baking) shopping, and socialising with family and friends. She adores travelling to exotic places but is just as happy walking in the Peak District!
