Specialist medical law firm, Medical Solicitors, is pleased to announce the promotion of Miriam Bi to the role of director.

Miriam has made a significant contribution to the team since joining in 2016, earning an outstanding reputation for her commitment to achieving justice for clients affected by medical errors.

Having joined Medical Solicitors as a litigation assistant, Miriam was supported by Medical Solicitors to qualify, initially as a Chartered Legal Executive in April 2018 and then as a solicitor in July 2018.

Over the last nine years, she has shown remarkable dedication to her clients and a deep understanding of the sensitive nature of clinical negligence work.

Miriam has represented hundreds of individuals and families in high-value and complex medical negligence claims involving surgical errors, misdiagnoses, delayed treatment, and systemic failings within the healthcare system. She has developed a strong interest and aptitude in cases concerning negligent delays in diagnosis of prostate cancer, spinal injuries and fatal errors. She has also represented numerous clients and families at Inquests.

In the same month as being made a director, Miriam was also appointed to AvMA’s specialist clinical negligence panel.

In her new position as a director, Miriam will take on greater responsibilities in strategic planning and mentoring junior solicitors, while continuing to represent clients in high-profile clinical negligence cases.

"I’m honoured to be stepping into this role and look forward to building on our strong foundation of success for both our clients and our team,” said Miriam.

“Working in clinical negligence is about more than legal outcomes; it’s about helping people rebuild their lives after devastating events. I’m proud to be part of a team that truly puts clients first and I am grateful to Medical Solicitors, and in particular, Caroline for her support throughout the years, which has helped me get to this stage in my career.”

The promotion reflects Medical Solicitors’ ongoing commitment to recognising and nurturing internal talent. Two years ago, the firm promoted three other long-standing team members to the board of directors.

Miriam joins operations manager, Jo Linton, and fellow fee earners, Christine Brown and Matthew Brown, who were appointed to the leadership team by sisters Caroline and Annette Moore in April 2023.

Together, they endeavour to maintain the high standards of service and professionalism that have defined Medical Solicitors’ reputation.

Managing director and founder of Medical Solicitors, Caroline Moore said: "My fellow directors and I are delighted to welcome Miriam on to the board as we continue to grow and evolve as a firm. Not only is she a proficient litigator, she has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, legal expertise and is never short of a confident opinion, which is exactly what we need in the role of a director.”
